Initially a wildcat cartridge developed by Roy Weatherby in 1959 at the request of the United States Army. This white-hot cartridge is based on the .378 necked down to .30 caliber and packed with powder. Originally billed as the world’s fastest .30 caliber cartridge, it will push a .30 caliber bullet more than 3,500 feet per second.  Reintroduced as a Weatherby production cartridge in 1996.

Our WMVx Version of the .30-378 will push a 180 grain Nosler Partition Bullet to over 3,690 feet per second!

The original Weatherby Accumark™ was conceived to be the ultimate in a long-range, extremely accurate hunting rifle. It features a specially-designed, hand-laminated raised comb Monte Carlo synthetic stock (a combination of Kevlar, unidirectional fibers and fiberglass). It also features a molded-in, CNC-machined aluminum bedding plate that stiffens the receiver area of the rifle when the barreled action is secured to the block, providing a stable and rigid platform for the action. The Weatherbyman™ goes further to ensure you receive a custom well-made exotic hunting weapon of unparalleled accuracy and devastating energies delivered to your quarry by installing custom stocks, cryogen metals treatment, and custom made 28" barrels.

A cold hammer-forged, heavy contour stainless steel free-floated barrel features a special longitudinal fluting system and a .705 diameter muzzle with recessed target crown. The flutes increase barrel surface area to help dissipate heat, while the recessed target crown is concentrically perfect to maintain pinpoint accuracy.

Adding to the accuracy potential of this rifle and caliber is a full 2" in overall barrel length by installing a custom 28" barrel while maintaining factory weights.  The factory-tuned trigger assembly that is among the finest in the industry. Each trigger is fully adjustable with sear engagement preset at between .012 to .015 and a let-off weight of 2.5 pounds. As you would expect with any Weatherby rifle, there is no finer production trigger available anywhere unless of course it comes from the Weatherbyman™ tuned down a full 2 lbs. over factory specifications.
